Macular Degeneration

Dr. Gina Wesley joined us this morning to talk about age-related macular degeneration, the leading cause of visual impairment and blindness in Americans over 60. While AMD is incurable, there are new treatments that can prevent further vision loss from the disease.

The key to treating AMD is catching it early, which is why the American Academy of Optometry recommends that everyone over the age of 40 get a comprehensive, dilated vision examination every year.
