Did You Know...

Once a child has become myopic, their myopia is very likely to progress.
Myopia in younger children progresses more quickly and they are more likely to develop high myopia.
The likelihood of developing an eye disease like macular degeneration or retinal detachment grows with worsening myopia.

So, Is Your Child Nearsighted?

Complete Eye Care of Medina is conducting a research study to test the ability of an investigational soft contact lens to help kids see clearly and slow the progression of nearsightedness. Common symptoms of nearsightedness included blurred distance vision without glasses and contact lenses or the need to move closer to see things clearly.

If your child is 7 to 12 years old, and has symptoms of nearsightedness, they may be eligible to participate. Your child must want to wear contact lenses, but does not need to currently wear contact lenses or glasses in order to participate.

Study-related procedures, contact lenses, and back-up glasses will be provided to you at no charge while your child is part of the study. Study participants will also receive compensation for their time ($50 per hour).
